Circle Experiments 1

I even included aspects of it in my award-winning movie screenplay “Die Emscher Schlange” back in the early nineties when still living in Europe. What kind of experiment can I preform to find the relationship between a circle’s diameter and its area?
I know the formula for finding the area but I do not know a lab to show how I did this.
The formula is A=pi(R^2)
The relationship between the circumference and diameter of any circle is pi. As far as area of a circle, again, due to the all circles having a circumference, pi is needed for the equation.
For one possible experiment, I would either acquire or imagine a ROUND gear or tool, that had a hole (i.e. circle) in the middle, thereby creating the relationship between between the inside circle and outside circle.
OR,…
I would use or imagine a simple bowl, but this bowl would have really thick edges at its rim, which again would create two different diameters (e.g. diameter between insides of bowl and the outer edge of the bowl).
